Why Do Dogs Bark?

Dog’s are descendents of wild wolves and as you know, wolves don’t bark (they howl) – so why do domestic dogs bark?

The reason is that they have evolved to do so – through selection by humans!

Barking was originally encouraged in domesticated dogs to scare off intruders and to provide a measure of defence for masters (people).

Who Should Use a Bark Stop Collar?

Bark control collars and devices are a last resort and should only be used AFTER you have attempted other training and positive reinforcement methods to curb your dog’s excessive barking.
A stop bark collar is not an answer to attention seeking behavioural issues!

A barking control collar or device should never be used to completely stop your dog from barking all the time, but only for excessive barking.
