Revolution is a prescription topical treatment for cats with multiple goals, namely to kill and prevent:

  • Heartworms
  • Fleas
  • Ear mites
  • Hookworm
  • Roundworm

Revolution is not an off the shelf product like other flea and worming brands, so you need a prescription from your vet to purchase it.

Vets will likely prescribe Revolution if other products have failed to work for your cat, or if they’ve had negative reactions to other wormers or flea preventatives. This is all to be discussed with your vet before deciding if Revolution is going to be the right thing for your cat.

Like other similar products that you can buy off the shelf for fleas and worming, Revolution is used monthly and you simply squeeze out the tube on to the skin at the base of the back of the neck.

Suitability: Cats must be at least 8 weeks old to use Revolution.

Active ingredient: Selamectin

Can Revolution For Cats Be Used On Dogs?
No, if you have a dog you can not use your cat’s Revolution on a dog. No pet should ever have Revolution applied without a specific prescription from your vet for that particular animal. Only use Revolution on the cat (or dog) that it was prescribed for.
