ThunderEase Calming Collar for dogs is a product that aims to alleviate some of the stress associated with environmental or situational anxiety by using natural pheromones to calm your dog.
The ThunderEase Calming Collar works by using the Adaptil formula
Unlike Adaptil and other calming sprays and diffusers, the collar is activated by your dog’s body heat
It will only work when it’s in contact with your dog’s skin to release the calming pheromones.
ThunderEase is adjustable – you can trim off the excess at the end of the collar to ensure it fits snugly but not too tight.
How does ThunderEase actually work to reduce dog anxiety and stress?
It works by releasing calming pheromones that mimic the pheromones that mother dogs release to calm their puppies.
And by mimicing the scent of a mother dog’s natural pheromones, it can help your dog feel more secure and relaxed – ultimately reducing stress and anxiety related behaviors.
The Adaptil pheremone formula (which has been scientifically studied and verified over two decades) in the collar is the same as the one used in their diffuser product; but the collar goes with your dog, rather than having to be in one room or use a spray.
These are the things I really like about the ThunderEase collar:
- Easy to use: simply pop the collar on your dog and adjust it to fit comfortably. The collar will begin working immediately.
- Safe and drug-free – there are no long lasting effects of using the collar
- Long lasting – it should provide relief for up to 30 days
How to Use a ThunderEase Collar:
Choosing the Right Size
ThunderEase is not one size fits all. It comes in two sizes:
- Small/medium (neck size up to 23 inch)
- Large (neck size up to 27 inch)
The best way to work out your dog’s ideal ThunderEase size is to measure your dog’s neck with a tape measure and add two inches.
Fitting and Activating the Collar
Remove the collar from its packaging and adjust it to fit your dog’s neck. You want the collar to fit snugly against your dog’s skin, but not too tight. Just like any other type of collar.
Then cut off any excess collar with scissors. The collar will start to work immediately on its own (activated by your dog’s body heat)
Replacing the Collar
After about 30 days it will be time to replace your dog’s ThunderEase Calming Collar.
Remove the old collar and replace it with a new one. There are no refills or other ways to re-use each collar – it needs to be replaced.
Note: 30 days is an estimation only and this time will vary from dog to dog.
If you notice the ThunderEase isn’t working as well as it used to, you might need to replace it around the three week mark instead.
